im 16 years old.. yes im young but I want a baby. everyone always tells me im to young to have one.. but I don't want to here it. I don't mean to be selfish or anything. but I want one. me and my boyfriend have been trying for about 3 or 4 months now and the test comes out negitive. and everytime it does I get more dissapointed. a lot of people say it would ruin my life and that I would't enjoy my teenage years. but im aleady on my own.and me and my boyfriend both decided we want one. can some one help us?! please...
you may think you know what you want, but just reading your question you have no idea. I thought I knew everything at 16 also, im 21 and I still have no idea about life!
You are way to young, yes I said it, but this is why: First, you have been dating your boyfriend for a few months? in the 1st few months of a relationship is when everything is peachy, you are in the honeymoon stage and think life is going to be great forever. This is not the case, you have only known him for a few months and want to give him the responsiblity of fathering your child when you are children yourself? how can you know you can rely on him? he doesnt know what he wants, whos to say in a year or 2 he realises he is young and doesnt want to settle down with you and his kid and takes off, becos it may happen no matter how much he says he wont.
Plus there is you, yes it may be all good now, but once you have the baby whos going to look after it? pay for everything? you cannot expect to reply on your parents! this is YOUR baby, are you expecting to live at home and get all your parents help...you stay home while this guy goes to work and gives you money every week? are you going to live together and are you both old enough to provide for another life for the next 18 years?
Think this thru properly, you cant expect to have this baby and then get everyones help raising it. This is your choice. What do your parents think about it? if you are living with them you may want to discuss it with them 1st seeing as tho its their house, maybe they dont want a baby in their house. You need to look at it from all perspectives here not just your own. Then make a choice!

Once a person becomes a parent, she or he is responsible for another person for at least the next 18 years. Raising a child involves a major commitment in time and money. Here are some things you could discuss with your boyfriend next time he brings this up:Are we ready to help a child feel wanted and loved 24 hours a day for the next 18 years and beyond? *Will we have the support of our family and friends? *Are we both ready to accept full responsibility for parenting and go it alone if we split up? Will we have enough money to support ourselves and a child? *Are we mature enough to keep from harming the child physically or emotionally? (We won't ridicule, humiliate, slap, hit, or threaten our child no matter what happens, no matter how frustrated we get.) *Are we ready to seek whatever counseling we need to become better parents? *Are we ready to give up our social lives with friends to take care of our baby? *Who will be the primary caretaker of the child? Will the other partner be willing to put her or his school or career plans on hold and stay home with the child? Having a child would dramatically change how you and your boyfriend live your lives, so it's very important to think these issues through before making a decision.
My advice: take time to grow up and have fun. Party, hang out with your friends, wait until you are emotionally and financially stable enough to have a baby.
Instead of thinking about yourself ONLY.. think about the baby. Can this baby live a healthy normal life.. with a 16 year old mother who is not fully educated.. is not fully street smart.. and has no means of financial stability other than her parents.
Its selfish to think about yourself only and what you want.. rather than whats best for a baby.
If you were MATURE enough to have a baby- You would know right now.. that it is not the time to have one.. because you would want whats best for your baby.
Well If you want to get pregnant its best to wait 10 days after your period and then just try for about 3 or 4 days straight. Im 18 and me and my fiance just started trying about 4 weeks ago and I havent had my period yet so I dont know!! But I hope we are =]] Having a baby is a true blessing but you also want to make sure you atlest have 9,000 dollars put away for the BABYS first year. And a atleast 1500 for yourself so you can pay the doctor, hospital, and OBGYN.! good luck.
Will you be able to provide a home? Diapers, formula, clothing, medicines, Doctor visits? Will you pull your hair out when all it does is cry in the middle of the night and you can't sleep? You don't know what you are asking for. I have two and I am 37 years old and my small one is so hard to deal with. Life with a baby is extremely rough and they will take the selfishness right out of you because it's all about them. No more what you want. Think about it long and hard.
Having a baby is hard work. It is not just dressing them up cute and playing with them. And it much harder than babysitting. Babies require tons of care and guidance. You really need to think about why you want a baby. Hopefully not to make a bond between you and your boyfriend. A baby does not guarantee anything except responsibility for someone for 18+ years. Why not worry about school, traveling and stuff like that. Do not be in such a big hurry to grow up.
A while back a user on here (sgt_ harris) said something that rings very true: "babies aren't purses". Having a child is not some sort of a fashion statement, and if you only want a child for the unconditional love part, I suggest you get a cat or a dog. They always stay a baby, they never ask for money, and you can leave them at home alone when you want to go shopping.
LISTEN TO LEXICON! I know SgtHarris personally! Harris is absolutely right! In my own opinion, I've always told my younger friends to start with a plant. Then get a pet. If the pet is still alive because of your responsibility (not your parents) then reconsider a baby.
Just think of a puppy. when you first get a puppy your siked about ti then it poops and pees every where and cry adn chews everythig up then you want to give it away. thats jus lieka baby. you jus cant thorw it away on the street or a pound. id say wait til your 18.

nooo waiittt dont do it D': are you against getting married? if your not, then wait and marry him, I think your already old enough in specific states. if you dont want to get married, then yeah, just have sex when your ovulating
I also want a baby but I am only 13...I feel to young to have one. anyway wait till you are ovulating then have sex...it always works. O and don't have pertected sex then you won't get pergnat...GOOD LUCK.

You should try taking care of a baby for a day first then ask yourself if you still want a child.
