Can you help me understand Lord Of The Flies book?

Im in chapter 7 and 8 right now, and in chapter 8, I don’t really get why Jack leaves the group. Is it because he’s tired of Ralph?

And most of the bigger boys go off with Jack, why?

I’m SO list in this book. I’m trying to ask questions that’ll help me understand it more!!

Answer #1

Jack leaves the group because he starts to believe that the group as a whole is starting to become savage and he becomes alarmed. Ralph gets angry because he starts to think that Jack is turning his back on them, and can’t understand why he doesn’t agree with the group as a whole, but ultimately Jack knows better, trust me
