can I work as a nurse even though cps founed me in a child abuse invesigation. I was never charge in any court of this and it was when I was in a nasty custody battle for my children. the reason that it I was investagated for child abuse was that I use to be a cutter and cut my self one time when my children were home but not in front of them. it was never brought up in court but I do have concerns about this affecting me with emploment when I am out of school.
Your state of mind will definitely be an issue when you apply for a job in nursing, and with the history, it will show you as being unstable.
However, if you have been through therapy, you can get a reference from your therapist stating that you are fine and it was only the result of a highly stressful situation - if that's the case.
Keep in mind, though, that there are a lot of stressful situations in nursing, and if you don't deal well with stress, it's probably not the best choice for you.
You can work as a nurse as long as there is no criminal record/history. however I would seriously consider wether I have recieved the proper level of physcological help to address any past or underlying issues with mentality. helping others in any capacity is a huge responsibility and failure is not an option in this field.
Were you arrested or have you ever been arrested for any reason? I know that every time time I renew my license, I have to answer that question before they'll renew my license. m I guess it probably depends on what state you live. But the best people to ask would probably be a counselor at the college you want to attend.
