Can you work in the nursing field if you are a felon

I live in Saginaw MI. I am relocating to Dallas TEXAS, and I want to go to school for nursing. I have a felony on my record six years old from Michigan.

Answer #1

well I dont think so but try applying at that school anyway and be honest tell them that you have a felon but it was 6 years ago and tell them why you would like to attend the nursing school and become a nurse and they may give you a chance. hopefully they will see that you are sincere but it also depends what you did 6 years ago to get you a felon good luck.

Answer #2

no you can not. Due to the confidentiality of hospitals and the access to patient records, finances and drugs convicted felons are not allowed to work in the health care industry
