Can I Turn Things Around?

What has happened is that…I being in a college usually walk up to my staff room and talk generally to lecturers sometimes about studies and sometimes not. The problem is that this has seemed to get on the nerves of one of my professors who never told me anything about it. So I assumed that he was okay with it….

But today h because when I look back I knew I shoudn’t e sent me a mail saying that they are all very busy and that I just walk in as if I have all the time in the world and that I should contact him only under academics and none else..

It’s clear he’s upset with me and yes even I am feeling bad because when I look back I know I shoudn’t have done this but now my question is if I change my behavior and talk less would I be able to win his trust again? I really feel like crying but I know I am to blame here. I am scared to even walk up and tell him a sorry now. Can I turn things around here?

I also know he’s under a lot of stress now a days so I don know if he’s exploded because of that but whatever I am scared and worried. Can I turn things around?

Answer #1

I would say write him a sincere email expressing your regret. Usually professors should be open to dialogue with their students. Express that you did no mean to discomfort your professor and be honest that you will try and behave in a way that he is more comfortable with.
