Can black people be gothic, emo, or dress lolita?

well Im basicly a mixture of theses three things people are always calling me emo or whatever and others make their little comments like I didnt know black people could be gothic, just like theri not gay.(I know thats ignorant) because I just naturally like these things would you think I was trying to be “white” or something Im not because Im not pale? or whatever

Answer #1

no way dude, you can wear anything you want. lol it makes me laugh tho, you cant try to be white, white is not a personality.

take care

Answer #2

I think a black person can wear anything they want to because I’m black an I’m also emo and you can’t act ike a different race.if you’re black you ct black,if you’re white you act white.

Answer #3

Yeah, kalista861 is right, you shouldnt let people who judge hurt you, you are your own person, and you should go out wiht a bang! Be yourself, and dont let anybody keep you from that! And this is were the famous saying comes in: Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!

Answer #6

I’m glad to see I’m starting to see more black people like you. You are a great example of showing that not all black people are ghetto, and loud! lol.

I’m not exactly considered emo/lolita/gothic, but I’m really into Japanese culture. I’ve definitely been judged because of it, but I always keep my head up high. lmao if you just forget the people who question who you are, and let the real you out, people will either accept u, or not. and don’t be discouraged if they don’t accept u, just keep on being who you are. Hope this helped. even though you posted this like 5 months ago.lol

Stay strong chicka!^^

Answer #7

Don’t let their comments get to you. Wear what you like and be who you like. Black people can be emo or punk or whatever. I get those comments too but it’s not about trying to be white it’s all about following your interests, doing what you want, and expressing yourself.

Answer #8

You can wear anything you want gothic or not black or white it doesn’t matter we’re all the same on the inside (well nearly we’re not all the same or else the world would be very boring) forget them wear what you want.

Answer #9

nah, i think it’s perfectly kool to like and wear what you wanna. no matter what ne ones race is. Theres been times i went into hot topic in the mall and this one guy was really into the nightmare before christmas gear.lol

Answer #10

That’s ridiculous! You can wear WHATEVER you want! Besides, being gothic or emo isn’t just a look… it’s a lifestyle. It’s a way of viewing life and how you live it, not simply the clothes you wear.

Answer #11

what kinda question is that? Duh they can be.

& note: Goth not just a style, it’s subculture look it up. I have something on my site in which you could get a good fondation. It’s in my questions called the The difference between Goths’ Emo’s, & Metal heads, Any Questions. That should give you a good fondation, best of luck & beware of those posers

& Marylin Mansion is NOT Goth He’s shock rock & a poser Goth, he’s pathetic really though I do admit I like bout 2-3 of his songs

Emo(modern emo) is just would be depressed people listening to would be bands. It’s just a people that dress a certain way & listen to a certain genre, that’s it.
