B.M.W.s, unfortunately, are not noted for their reliability. It may be cheap but you will have to be prepared to spend a great of money on it to get it roadworthy. And it has a lot of K’s on the clock so expect a lot of problems.

No. what you need is a quality car. Maybe smittybilt will do. Like this http://funadvice.com/r/bla1pf78tkd

Any car is going to break down. It’s probably worth $1,000, but you have to take into consideration how much its going to fix when it breaks. Let’s say you buy it and it needs $1200 worth of work. So say in therory you have the $1200 in work done. Now you have a car worth $1000 that you have $2200 into. At this point, unless you have a lot of money at the ready to spend dumping into the car if you really fall in love with it, it isn’t worth it. Chances are even at $2000 nowadays that the car has problems. Its possible to find cars for sale under 2 grand nowadays that don’t have problems, but those are best looked over by mechanics, and you’re obviously not one if you have to ask people on the internet if a car with almost a quarter million miles on it is going to break down or not. I can’t tell however if you’ve got this written as kilometers or miles, if its kilometers then go ahead and take it to a mechanic to have it looked over and to discuss what it might need in the future, but if its miles then forget it and move on. Miles are longer than kilometers, so a car with 240,000 miles has like 386,000 kilometers on it, whereas if its kilometers that converted to miles is about 150,000 miles, which isn’t too bad for a ‘94, And it just would be up to you at that point. $1000 means either high mileage or something wrong with it. More likely than not you’ll have to pass on it.
