How do you get a bug bite to stop itching!!??

Straight from the ToU, Good advice is an answer to the question that, without any links, will help the person with their problem. Links are OK, however, you must answer the actual question. A link to a search engine is NOT an acceptable answer, as that’s like telling users “use a search engine instead”. The reason they use FunAdvice for their question is because some things are too difficult to find in a search engine, and they want real, honest, human assistance. If your answer is deemed in violation of these terms, it will be removed. If you post duplicate answers, they will be removed, please only post one answer one time.

I think for health related questions a website with professional guidance works quite well. You go look at those in comparison to tooth paste… Not hating but sometimes the best answers are those from other websites. Websites that have actual researched remedies that are well known and widely used I should say also, not to mention a wide array of remedies just in case one in particular doesn’t work for the individual.

If its a normal reaction to a bite, I would use an anti-itch cream. I have a non-steroidal calandula one which works well and I love it because its all natural. You can also get steroid ones for when they are quite bad. For me, though, insect bites cause me to have quite strong allergic reactions, so for that I use either a topical anti-histamine or a liquid anti-histamine

I agree with Danielle. Also, a home remedy that my mother and I use when we get bug bites is applying a minty toothpaste. Apply a pea size amount to the itchy bug bite, directly on it and around it, allow to dry. I usually leave it on all day, then the next day I wash it off in the shower. WARNING: do NOT apply toothpaste to open bug bite. Meaning if you have scratched it to the point that it is bleeding, do NOT apply the toothpaste. This home remedy is good for when a person doesn’t have any anti-itch creams at home, and/or is unable to right out to the store and buy some.
