Bruising for no reason

For quite some time now, as in a matter of many many months, I’ve gotten random bruises on my legs. Sometimes they’re big, sometimes lots of small ones. And always a lot at once. It’s not because I run into anything. I am not a very active person, I stay inside all day. I know I don’t get them from bumping into things without knowing, because there are too many bruises at once for that. I don’t eat red meat, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it… What could be the cause of all these bruises?

Answer #1

do you have any eating disorders? if so the mattress you are sleeping on along with the damage done to your system could be the cause of the bruises. Or maybe you are just a rough sleeper and during sleep you toss and turn violently without waking. Or it could be something much more serious, I would suggest getting your yearly (blood) lab work done at your doctor, insist on it, if you have insurance this is usually covered and they pay to have it done once a year but check first because it can be expensive without insurance.

Answer #2

I get the same thing… GOSH I HATE IT SO MUCH… I always get them on my arms and collar bone.. My boyfriend always apologizes because he thinks he is being to rough with me… It could be that you are sleeping on a mattress that is poking your legs while you are asleep..

Answer #3

you probably just have sensitive skin. My boyfriend has the same problem. Like if I slap his butt he`ll look like someone brutally assaulted him weird huh???

Answer #4

See your Doctor for an accurate diagnosis…Take care !!

Answer #5

I too have had weird HUGE bruises appear on my inner thighs, for NO REASONS at all. I haven’t bumped into anything, or had alcohol, etc. I just went to the doctor last week and had blood tests, she actually called this morning to confirm nothing in my blood tests looked weird, so it’s not anemia (which I was sure it was) I also had a full female physical done and that was normal as well. I wish I COULD find an explanation to the weird bruises!! It’s scary sometimes!

Answer #6

It sounds like you have an Iron Deficiency. Eat more Iron Rich foods such as red meats, seafood, beans, iron fortified whole grains, and lots of green veggies. If you don’t think you can get enough of these you can get over-the-counter supplements at the store.

Answer #7

I’ve been to see my doctor and he took blood tests because I’m itching real bad and than the bruising staarted. He told me theres nothing wrong. He gave me meds for the itching but dosent seem concerned about the bruising medically. He sent in a Pshycologist in to talk to me and in so many words they want to know if my husband is beating me. I did all I could fom laughing at this person. Believe me the answer is no. It is time to find a new doctor.

Answer #8

that happenes to me a lot too but some how it can go thats what people say

Answer #9

I have the same thing I get bruises and I dont hurt myself…try goihng to your doctor.

Answer #10

ANIMIC. from not eating enough red meat,. no iron in your blood. simple explination

Answer #11

I would definitely get it checked out. This is not normal. My cousin’s baby girl kept bruising until some tests were run and we discovered she has Leukemia. I hope you don’t have this disease but it sounds serious. It could be you are very iron deficient. Anemia could be another cause for bruising.
See a doctor immediately, Mama K

Answer #12

I have the exact same thing, I still don’t know what causes them. I wake up with like random bruises and it just confuses me. One night I slept over at my boyfriends house and woke up with a huge bruise on my leg and he felt bad because he thought he like kicked me or something in my sleep. Some people, like us, just bruise really easily. I don’t think theres anything that can be done about it.

Answer #13

I bruise a lot to! right out of nowhere. but years ago I went to get blood tests and there was no explaination, so mabye like the other person said we are just bruisers! And some of mine are freaking huge!

Answer #14

depending on your age you are probably anemic, get a blood test. all you have to do is take some suplements for a while.

Answer #15

I get the exact same thing, but I dont know why. But I do have to admit the bruising started when I began being a vegetarian, so it probably has to do with that. you said you dont eat red meat, so that might be the cause, because I dont eat any meat and the bruising started like a month or two after I became vegetarian. I think we might be anemic. You should probably go for a blood test, thats what I did and im waiting for my results.

Answer #16

I have being vegetarian since I was 5 years old, my iron level was always low, good enough for me, but I could never donate blood. I never got to the point of being anemic, but for months now, I’ve being waking up with bruises on my legs for no reason. When I try to talk to my husband about it, he accused me of cheating on him, and that the “other” man did! He’s crazy!Any ways, I deal with my doctor now, and I don’t tell him anything anymore. I ready your comments, and we seem to have a lot in comom. I will do some blood work as soon as I can, and I hope that I don’t have any Leukemia or anemia. Wish me luck!
