How do you know if you bruised a rib?

I fell down some stairs, and when I touch my rib it hurts, but like, I can move around and breathe fine. it only hurts when I breathe in really deep. nothing looks wrong with it. I think it might be bruised but I dunno.

you may have just strained the intercostal muscles… but it is possible you have broken a rib or bruised it… however nothing can be done for broken or bruised ribs… take some tylonol for comfort.
