BROWN HAIR BACK TO BLONDE !

I’m a natural blonde, and have dyed my hair a really dark chocolate brown a few months ago, and I really want to change it back to blonde as soon as possible. my hair is already starting to show blonde highlights from where the dye is fading. and I also want to do this at home with a chemist hairdye or bleach? will this make my hair orange ? I’ve also heard that my hair will go green ! HELP ! I’m sick of this haircolour!

hi I,ve dyed my hair from blonde to nearly black ,brown to blonde again etc etc loads of times and have become a bit of an expert through years of experimenting lol.I have just recently gone from very dark brown to blonde again , I used jerome russell there are I think four sachets of blue powder bleach in a packet , you use one and need to buy a 40% volume jerome russell cream peroxide which you mix with the powder if you have long hair you may need to use two of each the powder and cream. leave for max time think it is 90 mins but read instructions ,don,t worry it does go through an orangey stage and does end up looking yellow ,this is where you need to buy a colour to put over the top to tone down the yellow orangey tones , the best to use is a dark ash blonde it has to be ash , don,t use light ash blonde a it will just make the yellow even more yellow or orange ,I,ve done it . dark ash blonde or even light ash brown , it won,t be the gwen white blonde ,but you then have a neutral basis to work from , I wouldn,t recommend it although I have done it , after the ash blonde you can then put on a light or lightest ash blonde you can get ,clairol does a good one called exta light ash blonde ,after a couple of weeks you can then put the extra light ash blonde on again gradually it will get lighter and lighter mine is a nice white blonde now and has only taken three colours of light ash blonde to get there so good luck x

When you dyed your hair brown did you put a red dye through it first and then the brown on the top? I used to be light blonde and wanted to go to a chocolate brown. The hairdresser told me to get a bright red dye and put that over the blonde first. She said the get an old towel and rub it dry rather than wash the red out. Then I put the chocolate brown (permanent) dye over the top and it came out an amazing shade of deep chocolate brown, I love it. The red acts as a base for the brown to stop it going green and to hold the colour longer. So if you like being darker and are not happy purely because its fading - try doing what I did and put red in it then dye it again. If not then I STRONGLY suggest going to a hairdresser to go back to blonde. Going lighter is always harder and you need expert help.

Well guys, first I started to strip my brown hair colour with head and shoulders for 5 weeks, and it faded a lot quite fast. And then I went and did something stupid and used a pre-lightener on my own and I went completely ORANGE ! Like I don’t think I have been so upset in my life. And so I had this other colour which is Garnier Nutirsse Ash Blonde 8.1 and I went ahead a put it in without any hesitations, and I am happy to say I’m loving my new hair colour, yeah it’s not really the colour I want, but I’m going to gradually lighten the colour at A PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSER ! LOL

Thanks for all the help guys.

lol my friend did the same thing. I’ve dyed my hair heaps and I think the most important thing is to go to a salon. if youre doing big things with youre hair get it done pro.

my best advice is to wait till the colour eases up and fades a bit, then bleach some of it (like the top bits). and if that works, do some more and so on. dont ever bleach the whole thing because you dont know if it will snap, break, or fall out. good luck xx.

Oh and also, if you DO decide to bleach/highlight it yourself anyway, then buy yourself a toner (it is dark purple in colour) and put that on hair hair straight after bleaching. Leave it on for 10 minutes then rinse out. The purpose of doing this is to take away the orange that will come from lightening it yourself. I remember when I first went blonde I didn’t know about toners so I was walking around with hair that had an orange tinge…
