How do you tell your brother you think his kid has mental issues?

Answer #1

Just tell them straight up ? Although coming from you & what you have posted about your kids, I’d think you’re over exaggerating & should probably just keep it to yourself.

Answer #2

the kid is older then 3 doesn’t ever make a noise and resembles a down syndrome kid

Answer #3

Do you really think his parents are unaware ?

Answer #4

The best way would be to tell the parents in a calm and honest way. Unless you want problems, don’t tell them in a rude way like “Hey, your kid looks retarded.” or something like that.

Although, maybe he does not have mental issues. From what I remember in my parenting classes, children can delay certain milestones or even skip them.

A doctor may have more conclusive answers if the boy is tested. Personally, if it’s not my child I wouldn’t really butt in to another family.

Answer #5

yes i do he just enter speak therapy which they think will fix the problem. but i truly think it’s a mental issue as do others i know i feel as his brother i should tell him. i know right i have a heart and don’t want to crush him. weird right?

Answer #6

but in truth it is my family

Answer #7

Yes, he is your brother, but his children and wife are technically a separate family. It’s really up to you if you should tell them or not. I wouldn’t because it may stir up conflict.

Answer #8

your a wuss

Answer #9

Uhm…okay? Don’t see how keeping hate to myself makes me a wuss. I wouldn’t want trouble with my family because it will show that no one should talk to you.

Answer #10

You can always tell him in a nice way that you are concerned about his kid. Still you eill have to let it go if your brother can take it or not.
