No. I think if you are going to break up you should do it face to face. At least show the person that bit of respect or decency. The only time I think text, email, or phone is fine is when it w as an abusive relationship.

Me personally I don’t think I could break up with someone through text. If possible I’d rather do it face to face. It shows that I at least had the balls (courage) to do it face to face instead of screen to screen. It’s a bit harder because you don’t know how they’re gonna react but at least you showed them enough respect to say those words to their face. :3

It’s definitely something that needs to be done in person no matter how short / long of a time you were dating or how serious it is / was. Relationships are uneasy at the beginning and the other person may have different views on how serious it is than you do. To keep everyone’s feelings less hurt, face-to-face confrontations are always better.

If there is no sort of abuse involved, then it should be either face to face or on the telephone, not in voice mail or text message or email. If there has been an abusive past, then an email, text message or letter is safer and acceptable. In some cases, where justifiable, a court order of protection will also suffice. I certainly hope that last situation isn’t what you’re going through.

What if it is a long distance relationship and you still had the balls to call them cause you couldn’t tell them in person cause you couldn’t drive three states away
