I am a retired hair dresser. a lot has changed since I was activley hair dressing. My Godchild has dark blonde hair. I encouraged her to go to a professional to have it lightened. She wants it light! It came out kind of brassy. She now wants me to do it over. I don't want the challenge of corrective color. No one does. I think now that she has already ruined it she may as well bleach and add a toner to it. Am I wrong ? Is there something else out there not as damaging. To make matters worse her hair is down to her shoulders and she has a ton of it.!
You being retired from that profession would know better than most - you could take her to visit a hairdresser you respect for a second opinion if you like...I wish you 2 the best !!
No, there isnt anything that doesnt damage hair. dying it darker than the color in the hair makes it healthy though.
