I just got my first baby pug shes 6 weeks old I named her “STAR” . but I’ve only ever had pits, they dont need that much grooming, so how much attention do pugs need?

I would do a lot of reading on this breed, and listen to Phrannie about the bath, and they can have terriable skin, ear, and eye issues. And lots of issues breathing. So pay close attention and make sure you get her the the vet for all of her puppy shots and the start of a good life.

Answer #3

DO NOT bath your Pug once a week, or you’ll dry her skin and coat out…making her itchy, and her coat dull. At the most, bath 3 or 4 times a year. Pugs shed a lot…so you need to brush her a couple times a week (one of those soft wire slickers work good)…Pugs were bred to be “companions”…so they thrive on having company, sitting next to you on the sofa, sleeping with you, etc etc…Oh such sweet dogs they are…Congratulations!
