It’s hard to tell you what to expect because every woman’s body is different and is effected differently. will I have a period at all? Yes, but on the pill it is not a typical period.(it is not biologically the same) The BCP Lybrel is for continuous use(no periods) but most women will experience some spotting. when is it effective enough to have sex with worry of gettin pregnant? or should I ask how long should I be takin the pill before me and my boyfreind can have worryfree sex It takes 7 days of perfect use to becme protected from pregnancy (BCPs will NOT protect you from STDs/STIs, only condoms will. SO be absolutley sure you’re in a monogamous, long term, std-free relationship.) Most gynos and doctors will tell you that you have to take it for 3 months to become protected. They say this so you get into the habit of taking the pill at exactly the same time every day.(a late or missed pill will increase your chances of pregnancy)

The pill is not 100% in preventing pregnancy. If you use it perfectly it is 99.9% effective (which is pretty good odds) but should you take it incorrectly (missed/late pills, vomiting, diarreah, taking medication that interacts… etc) then it is only about 97% effective.

*Have back up plans! -Keep condoms around in case you mess up your pills(or change partners and want to be std protected). Also call around and find out exactly how to get the Morning After Pill, where to get it and how much. I would keep this info and the money set aside in case of an emergency. (for example: you had sex last night and realize you forgot to take the pill yesterday)

Go over all the info in your leaflet that comes with your pills. Sometimes you can double up or triple up in case of a missed pill. The FDA recently changed this as it wasn’t effective, so be sure your information is up to date.

its not too effective because I was on the pill for 5 months and now I am like 2 months pregnant so either wear a condom with pill or up the dosage of the pill

Answer #3

Your doctor should have given you all of that information.

will I have a period at all?

Yes, and while on the pill theres a good chance your period will be more regulated.

when is it effective enough to have sex with worry of gettin pregnant?

Theres a small chance, theres nothing 100% that will stop you from getting pregnant except abstinence.

how long should I be takin the pill before me and my boyfreind can have worryfree sex

If your on the pill and using condoms, thats as worry-free as your going to get.

REMEMBER You STILL need to be using condoms while your on the pill, because the pill doesn’t prevent STD’s in any way.

Yes you will get a period. You most likely would’ve been given microgynon30? Am I right? Ok well basically you will have your period after 21days of taking it. Then a week after this 21days you need to start taking it again. It is important to take it at a similar time but if you forget it is very important to take it within 24hours of that time. If you vomitt or have dihorea ( I know, not a nice subject) soon after taking it wait until it has died down and ten take another). It is safe after taking the pill for aproximately one month. Your period will most likely be heavier. Pains should be reduced. Basically read the leaflet inside the box-some of it is a bit scary but don’t worry to much about it just be aware of it. Hope this helped a bit x
