Answer #8

Not an expert, just doing my best here, could certainly be wrong but I hope it helps - In order, in the verses below show:

  • you’ll see God sent the angel Gabriel to tell the virgin Mary
  • Mary was engaged to Joseph and he learned she was pregnant
  • Joseph knew they did not have relations and was very troubled - he was a just man and did not want her to be ridiculed, so he hid her away
  • while he was pondering the situation, an angel sent by the Lord came to him in a dream and said: Have no fear, take her as your wife - Mary is conceived of the Holy Ghost or by God (remember the trinity are all one, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost)

All through the Bible, God is referred to as He - certainly Jesus was a man (as the Son, He was also God, and the Holy Spirit - the Trinity)

Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, Luke 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Answer #9

Although I don’t believe in the Bible, I will disagree with Jester_x. There are few things that are impossible but many things that are improbable!

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

Answer #10

Yes a lot of things are improbable. But some are impossible. 2+2=4. It is impossible for 2+2 to = 3 or 5 or Banana. No matter what you believe. Just cause you believe 2+2=yellow doesn’t make it true. Example. A virgin at that time couldn’t be pregnant.

Answer #11

Several pagan religions also have stories about virgin births of gods and heroes, or about gods impregnating human women. The Christian version is most likely borrowed from such legends. In ancient times, when people wanted to show that someone was special or superior, they would invent myths about his origins and how he got his divinity.

ethmer, you can place “virgin birth” in the impossible category. It’s a myth, nothing more. That is, unless Roman Judea was far more advanced than we are in parthenogensis and stem cell research.

Answer #12

she didn’t ve a baby with god but gave birth to his begoten & beloved son:) an angel was sent to tel her that she will have a baby jesus & would be the most blessed women. she then told her husband joseph and so he was happy & pleased about it.so, he has a bilogical mother but not father as his excitance is within gods(his fathers) power. GOD BLESS

Answer #13

LET ME CLEAR SOME THINGS UP

You are right, God is neither a female or a male, but is often thought of as a male. (example: Christians call him “Father”)

Mary did not have sexual intercourse with God. God simply placed a baby inside of Mary and although this may seem impossible, Christians rely on faith. (It’s like Budhaism. They believe Buhda was born fully grown into a man.) Mary never had sex. An angel told her that she was to carry a son and name him Jesus. He was to be the Lord’s child.

An angel, Gabriel, came to Joesph (Mary’s husband) in a dream and told Joesph that Mary had not betrayed him and that the Lord was impregnating Mary & Joesph (being the Christian that he was) understood and did not have any harsh feelings toward Mary.

And Thus Begins A Truly Amazing Religion… (:

Answer #14

ok look at it this way. adam wasnt born from a woman, because he was made by god hand. so was jesus. jesus isnt the son of god but people just portray him as that because thats what makes sence to them. jesus himself never said I am the son of god. it probably does now because its been changed a lot. but in the very very old Scripture it never said that.

Answer #15

to maddie I dont mean to correct you but you said something. if you look into it jesus is not his real name. he was born in the middle east. his real name is Isa (peace be upon him.). dont take any offence to this. jesus is a name that the westerns gave him. take for example Joseph, he was also born in the middle east. his real name is yusef ( peace be upon him). im not christian but I do know a lot about the religion and the one you guys call jesus. I study religions like none other. I know a lot about most religion well at least the ones that were truly sent down by god. but the way I look it at and my religious believe. god is one. he has no son, mother, father, holy spirit, sister, brother ect. he is god. the creator of heavens and hell, and all other things including humans. there is so much god has created that humans dont even know of. so why out of all his creation would he choose Isa ( jesus) peace be upon him to be his son. when he clearly says in the tora, bible, and the quran that I have no son there is no other god but me. in those three books it also says that the worst sin you can do is making a partner with god or believing there is more than one god. which means the trinity cannot be true. it might not say that in the bible anymore considering it has been changed so much. if you read the bible carefully over and over again you will see that it is not the word of god anymore because it has been changed. please please please do not take any offense to this. Christianity was a religion sent down by god no doubt about it. but the religion is nothing how god and jesus peace be upon him wanted it to be. I know what your thinkin jesus did call god his father. but look at it this way. dont priest also call god father? its just a way of referring to god. by saying father he didnt mean it literally. im sorry if I offended anyone I didnt mean to so please forgive me if I did.

Answer #16

this is something you can look at that can tell you about the bible. this person in the video used to be a really strict christian so were his grand parents . they live in south Carolina. its a very intresting story. this is part one you can look up the other parts if you like it. there are 6 parts to this video. again im not trying to change anyones religion nor change their believe but this is the truth. I hope you guys watch it and understand it. may god guide and bless all of you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8b3wNXEyPA

Answer #17

Hopefully you can see from some of these answers that there is no logical explanation for a virgin birth. It’s pure speculation, and the idea is utterly ridiculous.

Answer #18

Actually, there are a set of genetic mutations that, in theory, and if all in the same person(never happened in recorded history) would cause an egg to have a full set of genes, and when the egg entered the uterus to be expelled at the time of a period, the body would become confused, and the egg would start splitting, producing an identical copy of the mother. Of course, this has never happened in real life, just in the show House.

But the theory is real, and the science behind it as accurate and credible as the theory of evolution(which so many believe in these days).

But that still wouldn’t fully explain Jesus.

Some would say it’s times like these that it would be best not to question, but I can’t say that without becoming a hypocrite.

Answer #19

FIRS OF ALL, I BELIEVE GOD IS A MALE. NOTICE IN THE BIBLE THAT JESUS CHRIST CALLS HIM FATHER? SECOND OF ALL, MARY IS A VIRGIN BECAUSE SHE BECAME PREGNANT BECAUSE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. GOD PUT THE BABY IN HIS TUMMY. THAT’S WHY SHE WAS CALLED VIRGIN MARY BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T HAVE NO SEX ON ANY MAN. AND THIRD OF ALL, JOSEPH, HER HUSBAND, BECAME HAPPIER BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT HER WIFE CARRIES A BABY IN HER TUMMY BY GODAND THE BABY IS THE MESSIAH WHICH IS THE KID THAT JOSEPH IS GOING TO RAISE. THAT IS A GREAT OPPURTUNITY.

Answer #20

With God, all things are possible, and it was important to him that this be pure seed, that came from him, so, it was no problem to overshadow her with the Holy Ghost, in order that she become pregnant.

Answer #21

Just like God allowed Moses to part the Red Sea. All things are possible through God. She was a virgin, and therefore (theoretically) not married - so God did this before Joseph had relations with her. Imagine God telling your family member that they will have a baby. Joseph was proud. Christians refer to God as “The Father” as Jesus referred to Him in that way.

Keep studying! Even if its just to understand another Abrahamic religion. People automatically say its a myth borrowed from other previous religions. I will say I believe it as much as I believe in all the accounts in the Old testament from the Books of Moses, to the Prophets, to the Writings.

Answer #22

Bless you Alygrl3895, for wanting to know about the Savior of all of us. I’m going to post this, then go back and read the others. Mary’s virgin birth Jesus was only possible through the power of our All Mighty God. He lowered Himself from Glory and did what is impossible to my feeble little mind by making Mary pregnant and giving birth to, yes, Himself in human form. He grew in Mary’s womb, fully man and fully God, experienced all what we experience, pain, joy, love, FOOD, growing up as a child and since he was God, taught many at the tender age of 12. He knew work as He was a carpenter’s son. Joseph and Mary were engaged to be married and wished to dissolve this when Mary “suddenly” became pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Here is where there is so much confusion, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in One: The Trinity all in One and in three forms. Anything other than that and we have three gods. Not possible, for He is God and there is none other.

He is Our Heavenly Father.

Bless you for finding truth in Our Lord and Savior, God in the flesh, Jesus Christ!

Answer #23

Hi, I wrote about this before. Mary was a virgin, the spirit (not a human person) made her pregnant. Not through the birth canal, but through creation put into her womb. The reason people believe this concept, is because they can and have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. Of, course; not until they have accepted the spirit’s presence into their lives. This is done through the prayer that God asks all of us to say(or He says we can’t go to heaven)–by the way we HAVE TO be born of the SPIRIT in order to enter heaven–or even to really hear Him. Well, here it is: Dear Father, I know your Son Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I know He was raised from the dead. Thank you for saving me. I am born of the spirit now and will live forever. I will tell my family and friends of your love for us. Amen
