what is the canon of the bible?
It's the weapon Christians use to fire Bibles at their enemies. During WWII, Bible canons were used to launch Bibles at Hitler's headquarters. One of them hit him on the head and opened to John 3:16, and that's when Hitler realized he was wrong and committed suicide. Shortly after WWII, Bible canons were deemed to be an illegal breech of church and state, and so that's why the US can't seem to win wars anymore.
(just kidding, see thedude's answer)
Canon of the bible = the books that scholars agreed had a similar theme, message, etc and were then included in the official bible that we know today...however, many different branches of Christianity have different sets of books, as the list has been altered since the first council in the 3rd century where the modern bible was initially put toghether.
The Bible IS a canon...
canon - - The body of rules, principles, or standards accepted as axiomatic and universally binding in a field of study or art. Any comprehensive list of books within a field.
