Better Illinois University

Which is the better state university in Illinois: Illinois State University or University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana? Please give your insight and personal experiences to help me decide.

Hey..I was wondering what your thoughts were on ISU? I didnt know if you could tell me what exactly you felt about it with your personal experiences?

without a doubt UI-UC has a better rep then ISU. ISU, in my oppinion, has a better area to be in. Bloomington is a huge city and has almost everything you could ever want to do attached to their Campus bus program so you can get to it. (freshmen cant have cars) and UI-UC is pretty much corn. The area around it is very run down and very rural. It also depends on what youre going for. you of I has an AMAZING music program, while ISU has one of the best teaching programs. you of I is much much much much more expensive and harder to get into. However it is a Big Ten school. Both schools are Division 1 atheletics but being in the Big Ten is going to have a better football program but its going to be more expsnsive to go to and most students dont go to them cause they cant afford them. but the games will be on TV.

If you have any more specific concerns I would be glad to answer them! I have been looking at schools for two years now and I have visited and stayed the night at both campuses.
