What do you think would benefit a homeless person during winter?

u can give them warm food from 7/11 or other grocery stores.or give them sweaters,jackets and things u hav already said.shoes so that they can walk on snow(if u live in a place there falls snow) or for the cold roads

I can’t afford to buy a bunch of shoes or jackets though, i’m saying I need simple things that are actually affordable.

Depends where you live, but here I’d get ear muffs or scarves. If you can find fabric cheap, you could even make scarves yourself. You could even try getting the warm winter headbands. Covering the throat and ears is good when the cold winter wind sets chills in.

You could buy cheap anorak sort of things, like thin ish clear raincoats to keep the heat in and the cold winds out. Or those sock-ettes like sock shoes, really thick socks. You should go to opshops/thrift stores/second hand shops to find jumpers for like 50c - $1 each. There you could actually probably find shoes too for cheap. And bags. And raincoats. In fact, I think you should go opshopping for everything!!!!

I dont even know what an Opshop is haha, I was planning on going to the dollar store’s and goodwills.

if i’m going to be buying about 15 of each item shoes aren’t in the picture. Though it is a good idea, it’s just not on my buget.

An opshop is like a second hand store. People donate their clothes and toys and games, shoes, blankets (there’s another idea), cutlery, EVERYTHING… And it’s usually run by volunteers- they sell everything at low prices and the money goes back to the community. Opshops (opportunity shops) are put in place for people with no money to shop for clothes and household items that won’t break the bank. I go opshopping every Monday with my mum just for fun, you can find some really good items. Last week I got a real Calvin Klein jumper for $2. :P

That sounds like goodwill to me :) I just never heard of it being called an opshop. I love finding bargins it’s so exciting haha.

Yeah I guess it would be called Goodwill, lol we call them opshops in NZ. I’m actually going opshopping in 1 hour! haha
