Does belling dancing really tone your belly???

Yea. Any type of dance is a physical workout. Belly dancing will fer sure tone your stomach.

If you do it right (belly rolling from the ante-abdominal as well as the oblique muscles), your abs will become a lot more flexible. When you tone up, you’re tightening up those muscles. In western culture, it’s frowned upon to have your belly bulging and sticking out, but in countries where belly-dancing and belly rolling are prominent, it’s considered a very beautiful thing, especially when you can utilize those muscles to make those amazing undulating motions. There is also a lot of movement in the hips so it also requires movement of the thighs and knees. It is based on dexterity and coordination, both of which can be developed if practiced enough – even if you don’t have either at the moment!
