they can be easily infected so if you get it done clean it as recomended and follow the rules mine has been infected a lot but thats because my skin is sensitive be careful with it because you dont want it ripped out its pretty much like any other piercing except for the infection part

On the positive side I don’t know of any bellybutton rings that have exploded or spontaneously combusted.
