Hang in there while we get back on track
I have my baby eat pretty much anything that was not spicy, hard, or too big that he could choke on. I would try oatmeal, rice cereal, eggs, regular cereal (just not tooe sweet), fruit, applesauce for breakfast menus. For lunch or dinner, stuff like soups, bite sized cut up boiled carrots, green beans (which he loves), peas, corn, squash, brocolli, chicken, pastas (such as spaguetti, just cut it up small so he can eat them easily)… The point is to get them to eat a variety of good nutritious foods. I usually gave him what we ate but cut his up so he could eat. I am an early childhood teacher and this is what we do in the daycare too. And a good idea would be to get menus from daycares around the area and see what they feed their kids if you have doubts as well as online.
are you a new mom? At his age he can eat almost anyting. just dont use a lot of salt o other seaonings…
When my kids were 9 months I would give them some fruit (baby jar) for breakfast after they had their bottle or were done breast feeding. Then for lunch they would have some vegetables (baby jar) after a small bottle. And for dinner some more vegetables and some fruit for dessert. Before bed I would give them some rice cereal mixed with formula or breast milk and then give them a bottle or breast feed them.
I tried to keep them on the breakfast, lunch and dinner schedule that we had because it made things a little easier for all of us.
If you make something for lunch or dinner that is not spicy and does not have honey, peanut butter or shellfish in it you can mash it up and give that to your son also. Just make sure that it’s mashed and there are no lumps (think baby food consistency). Try to stay away from really sweet foods also…like junk foods. If a baby gets too many sweet things then sometimes they won’t want to eat the vegetables.
Also between meals you can give him a little bit of fruit juice…either baby fruit juice or you can buy a bottle of 100% fruit juice (if you do this make sure that you mix it with water so it’s not as strong). If you decide to give him some juice try giving it to him in a cup that way when he’s ready to get rid of his bottle he will already know how to drink from a cup.
Good luck :)
