My father has skin cancer, would that mean im more likely to get it and should try to prevent it by staying out of the sun?
YES you should avoid that! I really don't understand how our culture decided the dark tint in your skin after frying yourself unhealthily is beautiful. I do think tans look nice but really, it doesn't make sense. I hav lighter skin than most people. That's my REAL skin and I don't want to change it especially when it increases my chances of cancer.
If you do want tan skin though, you can make your own sunless tanning lotion. For a temporary tan that rinses off in the shower, add cocoa powder to your moisturizer. Or for a more permanent tan, you can rub black tea bags on your skin to get the same effect as the sun.
Aaaand I know I said it's ridiculous we've defined beauty as tan, but I would like to try these (check google for more ways)! sigh Sometimes I wish I was African American =)
You should take care when tanning outside.Sunblock and sunglasses are necessary.Do not just pay attention to your skin, our eyes are weak to a degree. Also I tkink it's really cool when wearing a pair of huge special sunglasses.I always think sunglasses can add charm to a person. Here is a good place to purchase sunglasses,http://funadvice.com/r/1509n5n3g6a, they have lots of chic and fashinable styles and work hard to meet the customers' needs.I love to buy there.Their sunglasses are extremely glamourous with excellent service and fast delivery. You guys can all go and have a look.It won’t let you down.P.S.:their price is also very competitive.:)
Everyone needs vitamin D - and the only way your skin makes it is to be exposed to the sun. 30 minutes a day is how much you need if you have fair skin, more if you have dark skin. Do not hide yourself from the sun - just avoid getting a sunburn. Cover up with long sleeves and a hat, etc. Sunblock is full of chemicals, which are actually more dangerous long--term than the sun. Lots of skin cancers are linked to the chemicals in the sunblock.
It doesn't matter if your father had cancer, though it highers your risks, You should wear sunblock in you face to prevent premature aging and when exposed to big quanties (beach,park,pool,etc..) in all of the exposed areas. And also exposing to the sun can cause markings. So its better to protect yourself :o)
Um you shouldn't be like jersey shore and tan almost everyday.they are gonna be so wrinkly and gross when they get older.just go tanning every few weeks or months.but you can get a good tan on the beach.i mean just put sunscreen on.don't use tanning oil.
well its not so much i like the look of the tan but i like when my skin is tan. My skin when tanned has a darker red pigment which i like and makes my skin smooth, plus i grew up tan and now im pale and want my tan again

Oh and another thing, you should avoid it because the skin has very little protection against radiation and melanin can only do so much.
Im pretty sure that Skin Cancer is somewhat genetic. So just take precautions in the sun. And keep your skin and body healthy. Make sure to wear sunblock or sunscreen whatever aswell.
Well I mean it comes at a price... I would love to soak in the sun too but odds are even with my skin being naturally tanned I'm still not protected against the sun's rays. :/
It does higher your risk since your dad did, so thats why you don't want to go to tanning beds and try not to be outside on etreme hot sunny days.
You can still tan. Sun is good for you. Vitamin D people. :). just not too much.
yeah u should avoid it u could get skin cancer way faster by exposing urself
well dang, i really like being tan and soaking in sunshine makes me happy.
well i only tan once during the summer when the sun is out.
eh i think ill take the risk i enjoy tanning to much lol
