A family doctor told me that diet sodas are worse than the normal soda because it has aspartame. He also mentioned that it rarely causes brain cancer.
The biggest known problem with asparatame is it stimulates insulin just like sugar does.
There has been an increase in the amount of brain cancer since asparatame was introduced in 1985 but that does not prove it is the cause; the increase could be due to any number of other factors.
Personally I have a bias against anything that isn't natural and that hasn't been in the human diet for centuries. Since asparatame is relatively new it could take decades to find long term health problems. This is one of those areas where I'd rather be safe than sorry. Give me good old sugar instead of chemicals.
no, bus aspartame is one of the active ingredients in splenda, and splenda has been causing allergic reactions with it's users (not all), causing them to break out in blisters, and almost burn like marks. this is because splenda uses a bond in it that binds it with chlorine molecules so that it bypasses your digestive system
No to both of those... The FDA has done extensive research into the possibility of aspartame causing health issues and found all results inconclusive. If there was any proof that the ingredient caused cancer, it would not be approved.
I don't know, but I just imagined the advert...
"Chew Wriggelees Gum !! Don't die wasting away of brain cancer, you'll look nice and plump at your funeral !!"
LOL !! Jeeeze I nearly fell off my stool...
Allegedly. But allegedly so do millions of other things. Just live your life. A little soda isn't going to kill you (touch wood).
No but I heard it affects your memory ...
