What do you think of the Amish?

I respect and admire them. Even though I don’t believe their religion they are not hypocrites, have long been a peace church and they do try to live their life as close to how Jesus lived as they can. One of the most touching things I’ve learned about the Amish is that after the awful Amish school shooting Amish communities took up collections for the family of the shooter realizing that they too suffered greatly from the shooting. You don’t see that level of compassion every day.

Cool folks. I like their hats.

I agree with some of the principles and the respect/strong family values they have:) However I’m not so keen on the limit of freedom the kids have. It seems a little too isolated; they should be able to mix with other cultures to learn about the wider world we live in, that doesn’t mean they have to abandon their faith
