American and UK sizes

In The uk our main sizes are 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 and 8 what are these in American sizes as im oing ova to florida again an this will be the first to I’ve brought clothes ova there so I need to know what sizes to buy im a 12 in UK

I think you judge the sizing like if it was size 8 over here it would be 6 in american size and like 10 would be 8 12 would be 10 14 would be 12 and so on
