Am I too fat for my height?

I’m a size 9 -10 (It has to be a 9/10 because 9 is too small and 10 is too large) and I’m 5’ 5” but I weigh 154 pounds…so I want to know if I should try and lose weight or if I’m healthy the way I am

Answer #1

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

You have a BMI of 25.62.

BMI is between 25 and 29.9 (Overweight)

Persons falling in this BMI range are considered overweight and would benefit from finding healthy ways to lower their weight, such as diet and exercise. Individuals who fall in this range are at increased risk for a variety of ilnesses. If your BMI is 27-29.99 your risk of health problems becomes higher. In a recent study an increased rate of blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease was recorded at 27.3 for women and 27.8 for men. It may be a good idea to check your Waist Circumference and compare it with the recommended limits.

Info if you are trying to lose weight:

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/treatment/overweight-treatment.php

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”   One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

without a picture it’s hard to say, but 154 sounds heavy for 5’4’’. ideal weight is probably more like 120. 5’4’’is pretty small, you should probably be wearing a 5 or 7. you’re pretty close though, and like I said, without a picture…

Answer #4

well I really dont know where most of your weight is but im 5’2’ and I weigh tha same and I wear the same so im the one who needs to lose weight but maybe you just need toning so good luck…

Answer #5

No..your fine. Its a good size for your height. I was that size like in high school and I thought I was fat…I would give anything to be that size again!!! lol you always think your fat when your younger but then you reach like 27 or 30 and realize what you had was pretty good until you let it all go and gave into over thinking it too much. your totally fine.

Answer #6

Answer #7
