almost 100% POSITIVE that I have ADHD but my parents dont take me

Parents don’t want to know theres a problem, they would rather blame it on not trying or its your fault etc.. My mom did the same thing when i was in HS, and it made me drop out my junior year… I would suggest going to the counselor like the above person said, and explain to them that your parents will do nothing about it, when you know for a fact its not because you want to. This could really end up messing you stuff up down the road, I have found it effects my work too, and its really hard to get things done, even at 22. They may also be affraid of what meds they will end up putting you on, because there are some such as adderall, which is basicly legal speed. THis could also be an issue for your parents.

Your parents may not take you seriously because many, many people are being diagnosed with ADHD when really they just don’t WANT to concentrate in school or sports, so they use it as an excuse. If it’s really become a problem for you, do some research on the symptoms and mark off all the ones you have, and tell this to your parents one more time. If they still don’t listen, try asking your guidance counselor at school for help and how to get properly tested.
