McDonald's refuses to allow refilling of reusable cups - something other places, like Tim Horton's, encourage and even offer discounts for. Apparently, they are concerned about cross-contamination.
Do you think McDonald's is being irrational, or do you agree with the policy?

If the person purchases a refillable solid cup and introduces their own bought property cup requesting it be refilled. I can't see how McDonalds or any other place would be liable for honoring a persons request in using the customers own chosen and purchased property. If a cockroach is in the cup...it's the cup and the cockroach they brought in with them. Seems to me they'd have more legal argument rights then less.
I don't agree with it, but I can kind of see why they do it. McDonalds is a huge chain, and there are a lot of people out there who will try and sue them for silly things. This is one of them. So I disagree, but I kind of understand.
I think it's a little bit of overkill. All that is needed is an "air gap" or 'air space" between the equipment used to fill the cup and the cup. This should really be standard practice anyway.
