from a business and profit point of view, advertising is golden tool. every product has to be made known. but just putting it out wont help. u gota make sure on how u are doin it coz if u do it wrong, it ll just have the opposite effect, i.e. defame the product!! this includes the medium used, models ,the cost (which depends on what ad companies ur dealing with), story line, one liner,..etcc plus, more than half the ads try to exaggerate wayy to much, and this leaves people confused on what n what not to believe
Advantages are getting your product out there ,Known/recognised and sold.... Disadvantages are.... it costs a lot of money if you want a lot of people to see it....,if the product sells then there is no problem.Try small ads and see if the response pays for the ad,if so use the extra profit for a bigger ad,your only risk is the outlay for the first small ad.
