About my dogs when I'm out

I came home to a note stuck in my letter box from a neighbour complaining about my dogs always barking, but I’ve asked the neighour from the other side and they say they never hear my dogs bark, and when I’m home which is more often then not my dogs don’t bark, but the complaining neighbour says they going to tell the council and I don’t know what to do.

Answer #1

Protect yourself.

Set up a recorder when you go out and see if there’s any barking going on…do it a few times so you’ll have enough proof.

Answer #2

I woud go over there and apologise and ask them when they hear them barking? be really sinsear, stay on their good books. just say you will try to stop them barking..

Answer #3

I agree with charlie on this one. Be nice…talk to them. Barking dogs are very bothersome and can ruin your peace. I own three dogs but have not had complaints about them…but my neighbors have a dog that barks ALL THE TIME. I can’t work in my yard due to the barking. I love animals so I would never report them…but it is irritating. Do you leave the dogs in or out of the house when you are gone. If out, then they might be overly excited…if inside then they might have separation anxiety. Victoria Stillwell offers some great methods in helping your dogs deal with separation problems and excessive barking. Good luck. Go see your neighbors soon…and take some cookies… a plate of cookies is worth it if it helps. Also let them know that you are taking their concerns seriously and will be correcting the problem. Ask for their understanding…
