Its better to be hated for something you are than to be loved for something you are not
I think it’s true for the most part. Best to remain yourself than something you aren’t. If you are something that you are not, you might be loved by others but eventually, you will be hated by yourself. No point getting the love and admiration from others when you don’t love yourself.

I agree with Bathory. We should always remain true to oneself, that’s the best way to know who you are. Better to just be yourself than Being loved by others for someone you’re not. When you be yourself, people like you too, and you love yourself. Being something you’re not, that just lowers your self esteem since you think that being yourself isn’t good enough and you feel the need to be something you’re not. Aha
I really like this quote. I have always found hat surrounding yourself with people who love you for who you are is always the best way to go.
