What is wrong with my poor little bunny?

I just got back from a two week holiday, to find that my 4 year old male bunny seems to have something wrong. First of all, I noticed that he seems to have possibly cut his nose, as on the side of it there is a small, single scab. So perhaps he scratched it accidentally or something, I am not sure. But he is still breathing fine, grooms the area as he would normally and is not showing any pain or discomfort, even when the area is touched.

But, I also noticed that on his left ear, at the bottom, at the rim of his ear, it seems to be a bit “crusty”, with a few small, dark scabs, which I think may be causing some minor discomfort, but I am not sure. And me, being a worrier, am just scared that maybe there is something wrong with my poor rabbit? First of all I thought that maybe he is starting to get VHD, due to the scab on his nose… but I checked his “private area”, and it seems completely normal. So, I have ruled that out. I also thought that maybe it could be ear mites? But the inside of his ear is clear and normal.

I am just worried for him, I’m scarethat there is maybe something wrong with him? It’s just he hasn’t been ill before. So, I am just concerned about the scab/crustiness on his nose, and the rim of his ear? Note that his other ear is fine, so perhaps his claws are too long and need to be clipped, could he have accidentally scratched himself? What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Plus, I know this is kinda weird, but there is a leaf stuck to the bottom of his back foot, and it won’t come off easily, any tips on getting it off without pulling out a load of fur?

Sorry for how long it turned out…

the nose i dont know about he might have scratched it, the ears, do they hang or are they straight up? if they hang maybe he got some urine on it and thats hy theyre a little crusty. Take him to the vet just to make sure everythings ok, but it sounds normal to me, my rabbit use to cut his nose accidently while itching it and his ears did get crusty on the bottom sometimes from hopping in the wrong places haha. and as for the leaf bathe him in baby bubble bath, just fill the sink a little and put some in the water and use a facecloth to remove it, thats how i use to clean my rabbit, the soap is gentle for their skin.

Thank you so much for replying! :D His ears hang down, they’re lopped. And he has spent a lot of time outside recently, so it is probably just mud, or dirt which has dried or something. I hope so. So you don’t think it could be ear mites? But thanks so much for the reply, it has helped to reassure me! :)

yeah the ear thing is probably just mud, and my bunny use to cut his nose sometimes when he itched, make sure to buy nail clippers for them to prevent it from happening, learned that lesson! One of the first signs you will often notice is the “bees in the head” motion as your rabbit shakes his ears to try and clear the irritation.Increased itching and discharge from the ears is another sign. so no ear mites would be a different story.

Okay, well the insides of his ears are clear and normal, no discharge or anything, and I have noticed his groom, shake his head, or scratch his ears anymore than usual. Thanks so much :) Ima go clip his nails now… fun :S

Just a quick update, I think I know what caused his injuries… while I was away a family friend came in twice a day to feed and water my rabbit, and he said that a fox tried to break into the run in which my rabbit was staying for the two weeks. The fox didn’t get all the way under, but tried to dig into the run. So, it is most likely that my rabbit got clipped by the fox, or injured himself trying to sqeeze through the small gap made by the fox between the run and ground. Thanks so much for you help :D
