Would you feel guilty?

I was with my ex for over 2 years. He dumped me out the blue for Space, which I gave him. But he Dumped me 2 days before I had some results from a MRI Scan I had. (he knew the results was coming, I had the Scan a week befiore the split ) I Didn’t speak to him for 8 months but in these 8 months I had been in hospital and nearly died, have had to give up work, got my results from my MRI Scan (a brain tumour I had 7 years ago had returned) and got diagnosed with a tumour in my leg. I told him all this when we spoke to each other. he didnt really know what to say but kept tellin me to look after myself

If you dumped someone and this happened after would you have any guilt ?

If I left someone it’s because I strongly felt the relationship was going nowhere, or that we weren’t compatible. Although I’d feel concern for the person’s well-being, I don’t think I would feel any guilt over it, just as I wouldn’t feel guilt if my neighbour became ill.

The past does not create obligation for the present.
