I want a religion cause I’ve never really had one, im not to sure about god, haf of me beleves in him and hafe of me dosent what shood I doo, wots my religion how can I find one

Answer #1

Hiyamia,

Why in the world would you ask a question like this? It’s actually kind of amusing.

Religion is a personal thing, and it should be! If you do decide to choose a religion it should be something that you’re excited about, no matter what it is.

I suggest that you do some serious studying of all religions if you still feel that you’d like to worship something of any kind. For me, it came in a form many people don’t agree with. Something people align with ‘Satan’. I can’t begin to tell you how false that is… But we won’t go there for that is a totally differnt subject.

My point?

Find something that you feel is right for you, if you find that you aren’t sure that you’re ready to make a commitment, then you probably aren’t. If you find something you’re really excited about and find exhilerating, go for it.

I think we’re all praising the same thing anyway, we just have different ways of going about it.

Good luck and Blessed be!

Answer #2

Hiyamia,

I Just want to say that you cant just choose a religion and start going. It is a huge choice and a lot of thought, introspection and yes, prayer should go into the decision.

That being said, you ave heard a little about Jesus Christ haven’t you?

Let me give you a little more information. Jesus was born and raised and lived a completely sinless life. This was only possible because He is part of what Christians call the Trinity. The Trinity is made up of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These are like three faces of God. (If you studied Greek and Roman God’s in School you know that God manifests Himself in different ways to different people)

Here is something really awesome though. There was a specific reason that Jesus was born. God’s Plan. I know you probably heard a lot of thought about this but nothing concrete. I am here to tell you our God is a jealous God. He wants all of us in heaven with us. But there is a problem. Satan. He has the power to affect us and infect us with sin.

When Jesus was ready, and His work on Earth was drawing to a close, the Father set in motion a chain of events that led Him to die on the cross for you. After 3 days, he rose from the dead and spoke again to the people, then was called up to heaven.

Why did he die? Because all of us sin. There isn’t one of us who can go their whole lives without sinning in either thought or deed. Some will say even babies sin with gluttony, but I don’t believe that myself. Anyways, so Jesus, being pure is significant of the Lamb previously used in Jewish sacrifices. He was in effect our sin offering.

Now, do you want to know how to get to heaven. You don’t need to be perfect, win any awards, save anyone’s life, or do nothing but good works. You just have to believe.

Let me break it down for you. John 3:16 says:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It’s even more simple than that.

God loved - God gave We believe - We Receive

It’s that simple, really!

So, now to take it one step further. Is there any other way to heaven? It’s a good question, and has been asked by thousands!

1: I believe that the first part of getting into heaven is accountability. A baby or young child who doesn’t understand right from wrong would not be turned away. Someone who has a disability that keeps them from comprehending will not be turned away. And someone with a mental illness will not be turned away. (Again these are my beliefs) I also believe that one who has never heard of Jesus will be given a chance while in the waiting place called Hades in the bible, after the Greek waiting Ground

2: Works do not get you into heaven. By Grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, lest any one should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

This means that it’s not what you do to earn heaven, but the gift that you accept.

3: Is there any other way?

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father but through me.” John 14:6

There are two books. The book of Life, and the Lambs book of life. If you are written in Jesus book you will get a pass into heaven.

Okay, next question. Does this mean I can just do anything I want?

NO! Jesus said that we were to love one another as ouselves. Also, there is a second judgment for believers. This judgment is based upon our works, rather than salvation. It is said that we must store our treasures in heaven. Your works and service to others are what build your treasure there.

Now, how do you get there?

Simple. Easy. Give me two more minutes of your time. If you believe. If you really believe, and don’t just take my word for it, go look it up in the bible. Start reading in Matthew, you will see mush more than I can type here. If you really believe, then you can get there with a prayer.

I stress that you don’t say the prayer until you are ready, because without even trying your life will change. If you really believe something happens. You would rather read the bible than watch T.V. You would rather talk to God, than talk on the phone. So I stress, don’t do it until you know you believe.

Here’s the prayer. You can reword it a little, I do it all the time, but keep all the major parts there.

Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner. I know that it hurts you that I sin. Lord I want to be with you. I know that you sent Jesus to live and to die for me. Thank you for the cross Lord. Thank you for covering my sins in the blood of Jesus. Lord, make me new. Help me Lord to live my life for you. Help me to do white is right. Please forgive me Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

I know, it seems too simple right? Wrong! It’s a powerful thing when you hear a new believer speaking that prayer. It cannot be done on a whim, and if you don’t believe then you will not see the change in your life. But if you believe you will not become a Sunday Christian, but a follower of Christ. It is a wonderful feeling to know you are saved.

Answer #4

…ok, so you want something to follow…why?

Is it the traditions you desire? The social aspects? Do you just want a place to go to for weddings and funerals? Do you simply lack self confidence and need to be told what to do?

The more specific you can get, the better the advice we can give.

Answer #5

Don’t settle for religion, find and develop a relationship with the Living God. Everything else, is a false imitation.

God is real, and he loves you, when you seek him, with your whole heart, you will find him.

Once you actually experience his spirit living within you, you will never be the same.

Read the bible, starting at the book of John in the new test. If you are sincere, and believe what you are reading, pray, asking God to open your eyes, and your understanding, you will find what you are looking for.

God wants to lead you and guide you, you are his child. He delights in you. His word is his letter to you. His spirit is alive, and vibrant. Things are never dull when he is on the scene.

To be saved, all you have to do, is come to the place where you truly believe there is a God, and that he loves you, that his way is the right way, that you are flawed, and have not lived a perfect sinless life, and that you need his forgiveness, and the hope that he offers, that you truly desire to receive of his spirit, and learn of his ways. Prayer is the key, and obedience follows. Obedience to his will and his way, and that is found in his word.

Many Blessings…

Hiyamia, Hi first off I’d just like to tell you that I agree with silver wings very much so! Also Take a look around u! What do you see? EVERYTHING! :D Everything you see God made! Otherwise how on earth culd it just appear there? God died on the Cross for YOURE sins. and for mine and even for “arachnid” We all lie and cheat and do very wrong things and thats why God sent his only son that whosoever (who ever) beleives in him should not perish (die) ,but have everlasting (forever) life! That was a verse from the bible “John 3:16” If you look for it it will say just that! Arachnid said that we have no proof! Well thats a lie! The simplicity of knowing that your here on this earth is proof! All the answers to life are in the bible and if you cant find what your looking for then its because your looking too far and just need to beleive and have faith in what God says!

I understand this is realy long but the basic thing I wuld like to get through to you is that… you cant love somone you don’t know. So if you r realy interested in finding some religion to follow in life then I will tell you that you cant just choose a religion and follow it with out haveing any clue what your doing! So you shuld read the bible so you know and so you can love God.

When im in doubt I just say to myself “Its better to live and beleive in God and to find out after death that there was no God, Then to live in thought that there isnt a God and to find out there was!” If you have any questions about anything else I will absoloutly help you find an answer!

Someone Died for U! God loves u! And God bless!

Answer #10

when the laws of god just make you pissed, you better become an atheist!

Answer #11

“Arachnid said that we have no proof! Well thats a lie! The simplicity of knowing that your here on this earth is proof! “

“God did it” is not proof of gods’ existence. Nor is your inability to imagine a world without a creator god. Not to mention, even if it was, what makes you so sure it’s your god, and not one of the thousands of other gods that have been attributed with it over the millennia?

Answer #12

“God is real, and he loves you, when you seek him, with your whole heart, you will find him.”

“Read the bible, starting at the book of John in the new test. If you are sincere, and believe what you are reading, pray, asking God to open your eyes, and your understanding, you will find what you are looking for. “

Both of these are self-fulfilling prophecies. In essence, they say “if you convince yourself the christian god exists, you will believe in him”. If you don’t “find him”, well, you’re just not seeking him “with your whole heart” - in other words, you haven’t convinced yourself yet.

Answer #14

Obviously I agree with you on that point. But don’t take my word on it - that’s the whole point of skepticism. Go out and find out for yourself! If you’re interested, don’t just read the secular literature (like The God Delusion), but read the religious works of various religions (The Bible, The Torah, The Qu’ran) - and be just as skeptical towards one as you are towards the other. Ask awkward questions. Don’t accept arguments from authority. :)

Answer #15

Why do you want a religion? More to the point, given that you currently believe no particular religion’s claims, and given that none of them have any evidence in their favour, what makes you think that any religion you pick would be the right one?

I’d suggest looking more into atheism and rationality/skepticism. You don’t have to have religious belief to feel fulfilled. Richard Dawkins’ “The God Delusion” is a good guide to why people believe - and why you don’t need to.

Answer #16

well, im baptist if that helps you anyy. the baptist people believe that everybody makes mistakes (sins or bad things you do) and since every1 does that then we all deserve to go to hell for the wrong that we do. but Jesus Christ came to earth to die for us (basically, he took the blame for us.) so that we didnt have to go to hell and that we could go to heavenn. and so if you just believe in your heart that Jesus did that and you also accept it, then you can go to heaven.
