How do you keep yourself from worring?

Answer #1

It depends on what your worrying about. Everyone handles it differenly and the situation changes how people deal with worrying also. Some people take comfort in talking to others, some try and get their mind off of it by occupying their time doing something to keep them busy, some people find a way to lessen their fears by either finding solutions, etc. Like i said, it all depends on the situation. Its normal to worry though.

I myself try not to think about the problem, and I try to tell myself it’s going to be alright. I try to always think on the bright side.

Most of the time, the problems seem worse than they actually are, especially when you are only thinking about the bad. So, by actually thinking about it, while you are calm and relaxed, you can think it through and it may help you realize it’s not that bad after all.

Also, like Mandyloo said, talking to others is very helpful. I myself talk to my bf whenever I am worried, depressed, etc…and he always makes me feel better.

Everyone worries, but if you are worrying too much, or constantly and can’t seem to stop…then you may need to talk to your doctor, or a counselor and get something for anxiety. My depression medication helps me a lot. :)

Answer #5

I know how you feel. I suffer from excessive worrying myself but over the years I have learnt to deal with it.

One good strategy is to write all you worries down on a piece of paper in the form of a list. This should already start to make you feel better because you will be relieving some of that tension inside you. Next, try and write a solution for each thing on the list if possible. If you have some sort of plan of action then you will be able to feel less stressed. Try and aim to solve a few of them. Be active!

This technique may not always be possible if the worries aren’t a specific fixable thing. If this is the case then try to talk to someone about it. Or write it down. Or talk to someone on here about things. I’m always up for listening :)

Life’s too short for worrying.

Good luck!

One thing you can do is pray at night. Another one is to set a day just for worrying. Just do if for only 20 minutes. After that do something fun so as you could somehow divert worries and attract positive energy.

Talking your worries to your trusted confidante will also help, but worrying is actually very intrapersonal, meaning it usually goes around in your head. You can have a walk alone with yourself, thinking about happy thoughts. Breathe deeply, relax and do some stuff that would actually make you busy and forget about things you are worrying about.

Remember the Persian saying: This too shall pass.
