Could I have worms?

This is embarrassing to ask, but, my uncle told my grandmother to tell me that the four kittens i gave to him had worms, so my husband and i bought some treatment for my other two cats, but now im extremely paranoid that my husband or i could have worms. how do i know for a fact? i dont see them when i use the bathroom, and from everything i read, it itches on the anus, and i dont have that. someone please help, this is really putting my anxiety through the roof

Answer #1

Yeah.

Answer #2

You could have them, best thing to do is to take the cat to the vet and yourself to the doctor and find out, cats can easily pass them to a human.

Answer #3

yup

Answer #4

it’s a possibility.. the best thing you can do, as previously mentioned is get yourself and the cat checked out but medical professionals. you could also try calling a telehealth facility, or speaking with someone with medical background and letting them know of your symptoms,

Answer #5

you can get sugar worms from eating sugar on its own

Answer #6

The eggs from the worms fall out of the anus and drop onto surfaces like counters, tables, etc. As long as you are diligent and clean these surfaces before they come into contact with food, you’re likely ok, as the only other way to get them is if you’re digging around in their litterbox and chewing your nails after. I have 12 cats, and I’ve had my share of dealings with worms - never has anyone in my family ever been affected by it. If you take the cats to the vet, they can give them a needle that kills off the worm instantly - I find it’s actually cheaper in the long run than buying over the counter pet store medications….we had 4 cats done for 30 dollars, and they’ve never had a re-occurrence.

Answer #8

Okay i am going to help you. My mother breeds labrador and boxers, and well sometimes we have kittens too. All animals are born with worms, even as healthy as you think the mother is. They only way you can get worms from an animal is cleaning up there poop, getting some on your hands then eating or licking your fingers. Or licking the cats butt, which is very gross and i would not suggest doing. I have kissed all our puppies from the moment they are born, and i have even had tape worm go through our kennel. I was checked for worms along with my family, and this is what the doctor told me. :) Hope i helpped
