How to work out for Break-Dancing?

I'm a female, so I'm not sure if that affects anything?
But I plan on getting into break-dancing; two of my cousins are in it, I pretty much want to get into basic things like hand stands, and different stands (tripod etc etc, though more advanced) and maybe to be able to walk on my hands. ANYWAY I've heard that it's not good to work out everyday; every 72 hours so thats every three days. I hope to do 30 push-ups and 50 crunches every three days; I did 29 push-ups tonight and all of the 50 crunches. If I do this, it should gradually build up strength in my arms and torso, right?
