Why won't my hair grow?

I only straighten it once a week, I haven’t dyed it for over a year, I have a bunch of stuff to make my hair healthy, and I got it cut about two months ago. But it just doesn’t grow. Well it grows, to certain length and stops. I don’t understand. Please help!

Answer #1

Your hair is growing, it’s probably just breaking off at the ends. Your hair may be damaged if you’re not using heat protectants when straightening your hair and a big factor could be the way you brush it. It’s also good to sleep with dry hair and braiding it at night is good too. I have curly hair with bad split ends so breakage is a huge factor, it never seems to grow past my shoulders… Go to youtube and search Daven Mayeda, he has videos on how to grow your hair and prevent breakage and how to trim your split ends yourself.

Your diet reflects on your bosys condtion, inclding your hair. When you use things for your hair like conditionar ans stuff make sure the first ingrediant isnt aa form of acid or somthing you couldn’t touch with your bare hands. Also if you didn’t understand the diet part, bad foods are hatd on ur body. Try drinking a few more cups of water a day and less soda or tea. Also try hair mask and keep it close to the roots to. Hope it helps

It could be that your hair really isn’t healthy, or that it is breaking off or needs to get the split ends cut. Or, and I think this is my problem to, everyone’s hair has a length at which it will stop growing which is determined by your hair follicles. If that’s the case then there’s nothing you can do about it, mine always stops growing a little under my shoulders :(.

If you’re hair doesn’t seem like it’s growing, you can try hair extensions. The braid in kind. You’ll have long hair, and your natural hair will have time to grow in.

I am taking prenatal vitamins and my hair and nails have been growing like crazy. Try some of those. Its really healthy fot you

Answer #6

Agreed! It could be you have split ends which need trims i order to grow. Dry hair often does nt do well so i suggested getting so Argon Oil. You can put in your hair after a shower or something to moisturize your hair. Also the more oils you have, the more likely your hair will grow! But my big suggestion is to get a trim. It will cut off dead ends and split ends and clear everything up. Then your hair can grow correctly. Hope this helped!

Answer #7

no ones hair has a “stoping point”, you hair just isn’t healthy enough. deep comdition it every other week and get the split ends cut off. do not use any heat on it if it can be avoid it. im seriouse, heat will kill your hair… when washing it, really massage your scalp. also use horse mane N’ tail shampoo and conditioner. it is crazy good for your hair, im seriouse! :) do these things, and good luck! your hair should be longger pretty soon (btw, hair grows an average of 1 cm a month)

Answer #8

I would suggest less product, more water, and lots of veggies. Read labels on your shampoo, etc.
