Winter Jackets

Why is it that high school kids do not wear winter jackets while outside in the freezing cold and blowing snow? I know not all kids do this but holy cow it’s freezing here down in Canada and I drove past a High School the other day and almost all the students I saw had no winter jackets on. What’s up with this?

One simple reason, convenience! Jackets are not allowed in classrooms, and breaks are much too short to run to one’s locker twice, so it’s easier to brave the cold for a bit, then to be late for class, or simply to go through all that trouble! I live in Nova Scotia, and it’s frigid… but high school kids are not going to wear coats cause it’s a bit cold.

I can answer this from my point of view. I don’t like to wear winter coats. I think they’re too big and bulky. It’s hard enough to make everything fit in my locker without one crammed in there lol. So during the winter, I just wear hoodies. I normally just walk to my car, school, and inside my house and that’s it… except on an occasion or two standing outside for 20 minutes. I hope this helps you understand some teens better!!
