“why try to make a statement just to get people’s attention?” I tried to understand this line but I don’t know exactly what does it means..

uhm ok, when someone’s making a statement, they’re making some sort of obvious gesture or doing something obvious to make a point, for example, someone who shaves their head to make a point… so I guess the line is saying why do something like that just to get people’s attention… because when you make a statement, there’s usually supposed to be a reason or purpose behind it… it’s not supposed to be purely for the sake of attention…

sometimes people say things to get your attention bc they want you to listen to what they have to say abot something and really think about it. what line are you trying to understand?
