Why would anyone act this way?

I’ve been listening to the peoples around me at school, and everyone just seems to love the f*ck out of guitar hero, when it really isn’t that great. It’s the most boring game I have ever played, IMO(in my opinion). I mean, I play the guitar, and some people are like “Oh GH is SOOO much harder than real guitar!” And then I bring out a guitar and I say “can you do THIS on GH?” and I play a couple of songs, and they say “They don’t have those songs on there, so no. But if they were I could!”.

I mean, lets be realistic now, just because you get some hand and eye coordination with a VIDEO GAME that SAYS its a SIMULATION of rockin out on stage, doesn’t mean you can blow past the sweat and countless hours of practice and strain, and memorization of something with about 144 different sounds(regardless of octaves, if you even know what that means) in a couple of minutes. Not only the practice it takes to get even remotely “ok” with ANY instrument, but with GH there is no passion, no reason other than passing by the hours of a sedimentary lifestyle.

I mean not all people pull that crap, because some are even guitar players themselves. But stuff like this just really gets at me. Any idea why people try and show off to, well, I wouldn’t say more talented, but, more skilled people?

I’M going to SAY THIS NOW: DON’T FLAME ME because I RAGGED ON A GAME you MIGHT PLAY, JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION. I AM NOT SUGGESTING ANYTHING OF ANYONE WHO PLAYS THE GAME, JUST THE PEOPLE IN QUESTION WHO ACT LIEK D-BAGS. Just thought I’d throw that in there to avoid hate mail.

Ugh, why do I even bother asking questions if no one even bothers to take the time to read the ENTIRE QUESTION, AND UNDERSTAND what IS BEING ASKED. I even explain that I am not talking down to gh fans, just the ones in question.

I asked why SOME people have to be all snippy about the fact that they can play gh very well, and try to make the point that gh is harder than real guitar. I said I didn’t like the game, I DIDN’T say anyone who likes it can go suck a nine.

I simply don’t like it when people try to talk down an art, or a passion of mine, and TRY to compare it to a video game, something completely different(and something that requires much less skill IMO). If people want to play a video game, then go ahead, nothing wrong with it. Its just the fact that some are pricks about it.

PLEASE, people, if your going to answer a question, then answer the question, don’t just read half way through and ASSUME what the question is. READ THE ENTIRE THING!!!

Well personaly I love guitar hero 3 and I think its a real fun game and im learning how to do the real guitar. I think rockband is an amazing game too. I honestly think you just need to calm down and not get so stressed about it. Its mainly what our soceity in todays life is all about and thats ENTERTAINMENT. and gh qualifies under this section its a good way for people to meet others online. you have a challenge of getting achiements (I have and xbox 360) and its something fun to do whereather your alone or with your friends

im agree with ya hobozach, f*ck that game. I can’t play guitar but all my friens can, why do it on a video game when it doesn’t matter

Okay… does it really matter? So what if a lot of people love a game, thats good for them. Doesn’t mean you have to like it. I’m sure you like something that not everyone likes, and thats okay. Your allowed you opinion, why get so rowdy about a video game? They are proud that they are good at something, I see nothing wrong with that. I’m sure your good at something too, why not be proud of it?
