Why were Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews removed as co-anchors - demoted to commentators - on political night coverage with David Gregory by MSNBC ?

The newspaper report that I read says that they were less that objective in covering the conventions and Olbermann, at least, had some on- and off-camera difficulties with other reporters and commentators.

You didn’t ask it, but to me the most interesting thing about this is that while I could recognize Olbermann’s bias in his comments (they closely correspond to my own), I thought he was doing about the same thing most of the talking heads on Foxx News do everyday with impunity. Oh, well. If I owned a network I might be dangerous too.
