Why the Boeing 787?

Woo these planes are still huge, it scares me a little how these huge things can fly lol.

Its the biggest plane ever.

People are always fascinating by giant things, of course. But the Dreamliner is a big deal because it represents the first major step forward in fuel-efficiency in passenger jets in decades, and it’s a major revolution in the use of modern composite materials over traditional aluminum, titanium, and steel.

The pointy wings and serrated nacelles are also real purty :)

It is NOT the biggest plane ever. It’s not even close. It’s not even the biggest passenger plane ever, a title which goes to the Airbus A380.

Even in maximum configuration, the Dreamliner can only seat 330 passengers, while the Airbus A380 seats over 800.
