This makes me mad every weekend. My parents tell me to do the dishes and the laundry, and my sister does NOTHING! Seriously! My parents will ask her to do something simple like fold the laundry, and then she says she will but never does. It winds up being done by either me or one of my parents. Same thing with the dishes! Right now I am refusing to do the dishes while my sister takes a nap… LAZY! I am really sick of every weekend doing this. It doesn’t stop. She is always going to her friends house on the weekends, I believe to avoid doing anything. She is home now as I ask this, claiming she is “too tired”.
So, does anyone have any suggestions to stop this nonsense?
There’s not a lot you can do, but your parents really need to put their foot down.
Try keeping two lists - one for you and one for your sister. On those lists write down every chore you have done and every chore your sister has done for about a week, then show it to your parents.
It sounds like they need an eye opener.
tell your parents about what is happening, and see if they can come up with a solution. tell them how you feel.
