Emergency contraceptives force your body to start your period. That is the entire point of taking the moring after pill. Your body prepares for a baby every month by building up blood and tissue on your vaginal walls. When the egg is released and fertilized it nests in the tissue and uses it for nutrients to grow. If the egg is not fertilized it doesnt attach itself and the tissue releases itself causing your period start. When you take the pill it tricks your body into believing that its time for your period so the lining that has built up releases causing your period to start and making it much harder for the egg to attach to anything therefore making it much, much harder for you to get pregnant.

I would suggest reading the directions or the pamplet that came in the package to see what you should expect. And next time dont take something if you dont know how it works or what it does.

Cheers!

P.S. if the bleeding lasts more than the directions advise it should (I.e. if the directions say you should bleed no more than 7 days and youve been bleeding for 9-10) then would need to call your doctor.

I would go see a doctor, if you are bleeding abnormally you want to get it checked out I doubt that you are prgnant because pregnant woman rarely bleed since all the blood goes to the baby

but it could be something wrong go get checked out!
