Why is she like this

she probably wants to be just good friends (remeber, people do that in other countries and they are friends). I know, it is stressful, someone you like doesn’t have the same feelings. I know, I’m going thru that now. just give her time; she may come around. she could also have a bad past experience she hasn’t let go of yet. try talking to her. maybe she’s in a shell, afraid to come out (figure of speech). just talking to someone may help her.

She is probably very nervous. Perhaps she’s worried that if you do date and then fall out, it might ruin your friendship. Maybe if you sit down with her and tell her how you feel. Also ask her why she feels hesitant to date with you when you’ve known each other for so long. It could be that she doesn’t really see you as a full time partner and she may not want to get serious.
