You boyfriend is right to not trust you. You’re running around on advice websites lying that you don;t have a boyfriend, lying that you have low self-esteem, and lying that you think you are unattractive? I pity the poor guy trying to figure out when you are being sincere and when you are just playing around. Why should he – or we, for that matter – take anything you say at face value?

If you want to say two different things, be prepared to have people not trust you. It comes down to what you value more, the pleasure you get from lying or the pleasure you get from being trusted.
