why is my b/f bleeding rectally?
Hi my boyfriend has been bleeding every time he has a bowel movement and its a lot of blood its bright red he refuses to go to the hospital hes hard headed hes 21yrs old hes a drinker and smoker. what could this possibly be?
No one can give you an answer since your question is so vague, but it could be a food poisoning, or bacteria infection or in particular e coli. If unwilling to go to the doctors, then he could try not to each for a day and see if he feels better, if he does (not totally but improvements) It could be what Im thinking of because the lack of food will cause the bacteria or whatever it is to die as it is living off your food. Unfortunately Im not a doctor so I may sound ignorant. I was hospitalized for e coli, when I stopped eating just incase I needed surgery, I felt better and better everyday.
Bright red blood is usually hemorrhoids or fissures that can respond well to treatment. Have him go to the doctors. They see these cases every day (and every person thinks they are the only one who has the symptoms).
Dark blood - sometimes black - can be more problematic. And of course needs to be seen right away.

he needs to see a doctor/go to the hospital his problem isnt just going to go away by itself and the doctor has seen much worse things so he needs to man up and see a doctor about it
